Industrial Technology Research Institution (ITRI) selected and contracted UC Battery to develop SMB energy storage applications. The application aims toward 1-2 hours peak hour of electric usage (convenient stores and hotpot restaurants) during the day.
The application includes a 100kWh energy storage system. It is designed with auto-management, auto-billing, auto-control features. It helps the SMB to reduce the monthly contract capacity and avoid exceeding electricity usage penalty. The system is able to significantly reduce the operating cost for SMB.
For power grid and large-scale manufacturers and enterprises, UC Battery offers >1000kWh energy storage system design. The design focus on store low cost electricity during off peak hour in MWh scale. The system releases the electricity back to the grid or the system during the peak hour.
For power grid, the energy storage will serve as a reservoir. It helps stabilize the electricity supply and stabilize the transmission frequency therefore improve the quality of the power supply.
For large manufacturers and enterprises, large scale energy storage help reduce the electricity contract capacity. It helps reduce the operating cost directly and improve the company’s competitiveness.
UC Battery has been actively devoted in large scale energy storage system for Taiwan’s solar power generating industry.

積電受工研院委託,針對短時間1-2小時內,有電力高峰需求的商家(如火鍋店,便利商店)研究開發100kWh小型商用儲能系。系統透過自動化管理,自動計費,自動調控,能協助商家減少契約容量,減少超電量使用的罰款,顯著點降低了商家的運營成本。
在大型儲能(>1000kWh)應用方面,針對大型工廠企業和電網的應用,提出1MWh為單位的儲能系統設計,設計原則是儲存離峰低價電力,在高峰期間釋放電力進入電網或大型工廠企業使用。對於電網,這是一個使用備載容量穩定電力供應,穩定電力輸送頻率提升供電品質的手段。對於大型工廠企業,大型儲能系統,直接減少企業購買電力的契約容量,直接降低企業運營成本,提升企業競爭實力。積電電能積極的針對台灣的太陽能發電,開發設計大型儲能系統。
