Introduction: Ultra Capacitor+LiFePO4 Battery(UCB)

EVER WONDER HOW A BATTERY COULD SAVE YOU ON GAS PRICES ?

When you install the UCB battery in parallel with the traditional lead-acid battery you will discover the following features:

1. Higher working voltage (13.8V~14.2V)

2. Faster engine response

3. Less fuel consumption(10~15%)

4. Easier to start

5. Environment-Friendly (25~30% carbon monoxide is discharged)

6. Lengthen the life-span of the lead-acid battery


This is because:

1. UCB battery can charge and discharge rapidly and offer 15% of the motive force while starting. This shift of burden from the lead-acid battery prolongs the life-span of the lead-acid battery. Figure1&2 below shows the current waveform of a starting vehicle with an old lead-acid battery in connection with the UCB battery. You will find that even an 5 year old vehicle with the headlight on is easy to start within 1 seconds using our battery.

2. The working voltage of our UCB battery is higher than lead-acid battery (0.8~1.4V), which causes the starting voltage to be higher, resulting in more complete burning.

Lower internal impedance also contributes to increased generator efficiency. That is because the vehicle’s generator operates on high frequency, and the energy storage device works better at higher frequency. Refer to Figure 4 below, which shows the voltage difference between the lead-acid voltage and the vehicle’s generator voltage. Not only the UCB influences the working voltage of the lead-acid battery, it also causes some virtual current (electric power) to flow back and forth between the generator and lead-acid battery.

Steady and higher working voltage also makes the spark hotter in the cylinder. To ignite the vaporized gasoline, the voltage across the ignition coil’s secondary may be over 20000V, which means the voltage across the ignition coil’s secondary has far more windings than the primary; therefore the winding ratio is very large. Or, we shall simply say the ignition in the cylinder is much more sensitive to the battery impedance and working voltage.


The ignition coil consists of two transformer windings (primary and secondary windings) sharing a common magnetic core. An alternating current in the primary winding induces alternating magnetic field in the coil's core. Because the ignition coil's secondary has far more windings than the primary, the coil becomes a step-up transformer, which induces a much higher voltage across the secondary windings.

How About Actual Test Results:

Please refer to Table below. After installing the UCBattery to the traditional lead-acid battery, the mileage for per-liter increases more than 10%. After complete testing process, even the testing driver is surprised with the results, and said that he “can not believe it”!

Q&A


Q1:If the car generator failed, will the car shut down without warning signal?

A1:When generator failed, the battery warning light on the car display shall be turned on. The car could run for a few minutes, and the driver shall be aware that the engine is abnormal under such condition. Actually, it is same as the case if only the lead-acid battery is used.


Q2:If battery is used up by some mistakes, whether the user/car will be dangerous?

A2:Because of the UCBattery, there is no fire issue even when over-charged. Also, the UCBattery includes two sets of fuse that become effective under emergence to avoid danger.


Q3:UCBattery is almost same price as the lead –acid battery, does it have longer life span than the lead-acid battery?

A3:Of course, the life span of UCBattery is much better than the Lead-acid battery.


Q4:If internal/external short occurs by accident, will it cause any problem?

A4:A dedicated fuse is built to eliminate possible issue caused by the external short. A nail/crush test is also conducted on the UCBattery, and the results show our battery is quite safe.


Q5:Do you allow car service center to charge UCBattery by normal lead-acid charger?

A5:There is no safety issue if the lead-acid charger is below 15V.
